| :: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 :: |
| |
Depart for Galway via Dublin |
 |
| :: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 :: WELCOME TO IRELAND!
|
| |
After clearing customs in Dublin, you will catch a quick 45-minute flight to Galway, where you will be met and transported to your hotel where you can rest or freshen up to begin your exploration of Galway. Galway has excellent shopping and is well known for its pubs and Irish music. Suggested sites: Eyre Square, “Latin Quarter”, Lynch’s Castle, Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas, The Quay Pub, Spanish Arch and City Museum and Corrib River.
Evening free to enjoy dinner, explore the local pubs on your own, or join the group for a wee pub crawl. Either way, you will enjoy the traditional Irish music over a few pints. |
 |
| :: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 :: GALWAY |
| |
Spend the day as you wish, exploring, shopping, sampling pints . . . or ferry out to the Aran Islands . . . tour Connemara and Kylemore Abbey with the group. Enjoy the fabulous offerings at McSwiggan’s during your first group dinner. Spend the rest of your evening pub hopping and taking in the Galway sights by night. |
 |
| :: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 :: THE BURREN AND DOOLIN |
| |
Enroute to Doolin, you will stop at the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher where you can casually enjoy the view, or take the short hiking paths along the Atlantic, after experiencing the newly opened Atlantic Edge Exhibition and virtual reality adventure “The Ledge”. Tour the wondrous, eerie, lunar-like Burren—it defies nature’s conventional rules by packing a contrast of geology, flora, caves, archaeology and history into the small 100 square mile area.
You will check into your hotel in Doolin and have a chance to prepare yourself for the night ahead—The Matchmaker Festival in nearby Lisdoonvarna. If you haven’t experienced a festival in Ireland, you haven’t really experienced Ireland! You will have a clear understanding of how the phrase “party like the Irish” came about. |
 |
| :: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 :: DINGLE |
| |
You will want to sleep in today to recover from last night’s adventure. Late morning we will ferry across the Shannon River and take a leisurely drive to beautiful Dingle. Once you cross over to the Dingle Peninsula, you will feel the stress melt away as everything slows way down to Irish time. Check into your hotel for a 2-night stay and enjoy a group dinner at one of Dingle’s finest seafood restaurants (don’t worry, the menu has much more to offer), then feel free to go out and explore a few of the more than 60 pubs in this tiny town. Dingle is renowned for its traditional Irish music pubs. |
 |
| :: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8:: TOUR DINGLE PENINSULA |
| |
You will tour the Dingle Peninsula in the morning, and enjoy the rest of your day and evening in picturesque Dingle. Remember all those pubs we told you about, we are going to see how many of them we can hit on a “wee” pub crawl in the evening! |
 |
| :: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9:: KINSALE VIA KILLARNEY |
| |
Enroute to Kinsale, we will make a brief stop in Milltown so you can see the tiny house where Patrick’s dad was born and enjoy a libation at Larkin’s Pub, then it’s on to Killorglin, where every July the little town is transformed for Puck Fair, one of the most renowned festivals in all of Ireland. Enjoy lunch in Killarney after touring majestic Muckross House, then sit back and relax during the scenic drive past the Lakes of Killarney, Black Valley, and Moll’s Gap to the delightful bayside town of Kinsale where you can enjoy the rest of your day and evening on your own—although you will want to check out the Ghost Walk Tour to kick off your evening. |
 |
| :: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 :: CORK AND KINSALE |
| |
This is your chance to kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle in nearby Cork. Lose yourself in the shopper’s mecca known as The Blarney Woolen Mills (or the nearby pubs) before returning to Kinsale and our final group dinner. The rest of the evening is yours to hit the pubs! |
 |
| :: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 :: WATERFORD |
| |
Tour Charles Fort on the way out of Kinsale, experience The Queenstown Story in Cobh, and tour Midleton Distillery (ending with a wee dram of whiskey) as you head for the famous waterfront town of Waterford. After checking into your hotel, take the Historic Walking Tour and see the Waterford Museum of Treasures before enjoying dinner on your own. If you feel like it, we will be organizing another small pub crawl ending with a famed Irish music session. |
 |
| :: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12:: WATERFORD AND DUBLIN |
| |
Watch the craftsmen at Waterford Crystal Factory as they hand blow and cut this world-famous crystal. You will have plenty of time to visit the showroom and purchase some crystal for yourself before heading out to New Ross where you can tour the Dunbrody Famine Ship, then it’s on to Dublin.
Make sure your bags are packed before you hit Temple Bar district for a final blow-out before heading out in the morning. Temple Bar district is an unforgettable experience! |
 |
| :: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13:: HOME AGAIN |
| |
We travel home from Dublin to gather back at Patrick’s Irish Pub for your last pint of the trip and to schedule a photo party so everyone can share their favorite photos with the group. If you would like to transfer your favorite photos onto a CD, we can show them to the group and we can burn CDs of other travelers’ photos for you as well. |
